A wide variety of open-source software (OSS) are used to build applications in today's front-end development. However, various issues exist between companies and individual OSS developers.
・Companies are the only ones who make money and OSS developers are not compensated properly, if at all.
・Engineers employed by companies have difficulty finding time to contribute to OSS development due to their regular duties.
・Delays in OSS maintenance and problems that affect the release of company products.
It takes time and effort to maintain OSS. How should we participate in OSS development in the fast-changing world of front-end, with its wide variety of packages and dependencies? This session will consider what both companies and individual developers can do to make OSS development sustainable.
